The Woodbridge Inn

Welcome to the Woodbridge Inn

Cathy & Richard would like to Welcome all and hope you enjoy your visit .
The Woodbridge Inn started life in 1786 as a typical Wiltshire coaching Inn. It got its name from the old wooden bridge that stretched over the river Avon.
Legend has it, that on dark winter nights, a ghostly specter of a Coach and Four gallop over the ‘scales bridge’ at the neighbouring village of Upavon. Then continuing its charge towards The Woodbridge Inn in hopes of sanctuary, from what we shall never know.
